Days 62, 63 & 64 – Keepin’ Busy!

This weekend seemed to fly by and at the same time – it wasn’t really filled with anything too crazy. I think that is the way weekends are supposed to work, aren’t they?

Saturday was somewhat productive, but I had a much longer ‘To Do’ list than I actually ended up completing. Boxing training was good. I had a very good night’s rest which helped out so much – finally! The rest of the day was busy and by the time Kelso and I went out to dinner, I was feeling the tiredness setting in already. Kels was headed out for drinks and I was headed home to bed. I am officially an old lady for going to bed at 9:30pm on a Saturday, but my old lady bones were thanking me in the morning when I got up at 6:30am for a run on Sunday.

My Sunday was a day kind of similar to Saturday, but with a few more errands thrown in there. I was glad to get a few things off of my increasingly growing “to do” list. Overall it was a fairly successful and productive day. Hooray for Successful Sundays!

On the fundraising side of things, I am really moving along. This is where the real action has been for me over these past few days 🙂

White Collar Boxing Raffle

Libby got the raffle tickets printed and they look great! Well done! We have had to number them by hand so that has actually taken quite some time between the two of us, but it is now completed and now most of the squad members have their tickets in hand and are ready to sell. I worked on creating a webpage to showcase the amazing raffle prizes that can be won (I’m no webpage wiz kid – but Wix.com does make me look like I know what I am doing! Smoke and mirrors, people!) We will be selling tickets for the upcoming weeks leading up to fight night. We are hoping that this is a really successful fundraising initiative. So far – so good! Libby and I started to sell some over the weekend and we found that people were really keen on donating this way and also very interested in the prizes on offer. A great start to this part of the fundraising!

Check out the raffle prizes and more at www.boxingforthecsc.com  Feel free to pass this on to people in Singapore who might be interested in getting in on the raffle and try their luck at winning some of the awesome prizes!

Book Fair Donations

Donations for the Book Fair are starting to add up which is great! I am very happy to see how many books have been donated so far. I have 4 more weeks before the Fair so I am hoping to get a lot between now and then so that the fair is very successful. This is what I have had donated so far (along with some clothes for the Clothes Swap too)

The donations are starting to add up!

Spreading the Word

My students have been asking me about what I am doing since I have started to advertise the book fair and some of the other fundraising initiatives at school. So I decided to share some photos of me on my classroom door and my blog address with them too. Hopefully some of the students will stop by my blog to see what I have been up to – it’s not every day a Drama teacher steps into a boxing ring after all. I thought I would put some of the photos I had taken to good use in another way as well… as a little reminder for homework. I hope it works! The kids have been getting a little giggle out of it at least 🙂

We'll see if this improves some of my student's ability to remember to submit their homework on time!

I want to end with a massive ‘thanks’ to everyone who is showing their support for me! Whether it is a donation of books, clothing, money or helping me to spread the word – it all counts! Thanks everyone!
