Days 55, 56 and 57 – Spinning Plates
I feel a bit like I am in a circus act these days. You know the acrobats that have a bunch of spinning plates? That’s me it seems.
There is A LOT going on for me at the moment and I am working hard to keep it all in check and organized and all running like a well-oiled machine. Here’s a breakdown on what’s up in the world of K.O
Fundraising – Used Book Donations are being collected at school, picking up other donations this week for both the raffle and the Clothes Swap and also more books around Singapore, need to make raffle tickets, flyer for all the donations and update my website to show all the prizes to be shared to potential raffle ticket holders…lots to be done this week but hopefully I can get some things crossed off my “to do” list!
Work – High School Musical on next week and I am trying to help out where I can, organizing the teacher performance for the Middle School Talent Show, running rehearsals for my Talent Show groups, my principal is coming in for an assessment in my class on me and my teaching, and then I am also starting in on helping with the Middle School Musical next week. Oh yeah… and actually doing my full time job of teaching my classes too!
Training – My training has been going well but for the past little while I haven’t been doing much by the way of sparring. Rey has promised me that this week I will be sparring – a lot. He has lined up a few of the men from the Vanda Team for me to spar with which should be very, very challenging. Rey wants to see what I look like in the ring so he can help me to correct the things that I am doing wrong. Tonight is my first bout – wish me luck!
Personal Life – I have also been busy with this over the past little while and this is perhaps where I am needing to do a bit more work to balance more time spent with my friends. Sometimes my sofa and sleep look far more inviting at times. However, it has been really nice to have visitors with us from my hometown over the past few days. I really love sharing Singapore to anyone and everyone and what my life looks like here. I think that we don’t get enough visitors each year *hint hint* to all those back home! We would always love to have people come and stay with us and it is a great way to get out there and do some of those things we don’t always take the time for ourselves. Barb and Ben Dietrich have been wonderful to have and get to know during their visit – it’s always so nice to have a bit of Huron County in Singapore!
So – my plates will keep spinning for the time being and I hope that I can keep them all up in the air!
