Days 7 & 8 – a new week and some new ideas…
Sunday was a perfect day of doing some work and doing a work out and then heading to Gold Class for a movie in the evening – if you haven’t seen “Silver Lining Playbook” stop what you are doing and go see it now. I loved it.
I have been running for the last two Sundays (nothing major – just a bit less than 5km) by the canal near my house. This week was far easier to do than last week. However, upon reading a motivational message from one of my coaches, Alexis, I realize that I need to be doing A LOT more running than what I have been doing in the past. I am not sure if I can get up any earlier than I do already and still function as a human being. 6am(-ish) is already difficult for me, but this week I think I am going to try it out a bit. I am NOT looking forward to it but I am hoping that it might get easier? Does it?!?! I’m skeptical.
This evening we had another white collar session and it was a tough one! The exercises and of course the jabs were killing me. I wasn’t quite feeling it when I first arrived after a long day of work and driving in traffic but started to get into it during the skipping and it was all uphill from there! Stood next to another WCBoxer named Ryan who has been training at the gym for years. He is super fit and it was a bit of a race to finish the exercises as Alexis threatened more exercises to the group who finished last. Ryan was flying through the exercises and I was right behind him. He always finished first and me second, through each set. I was pretty proud that I could relatively keep up to him because he was so good! Woop! I told him that I’m going to stick with him from now on because he is a motivator to work hard when you are beside someone who is (to take a phrase from my roots) “given’r”!!!
