Days 5 and 6
Yesterday was a day off which was put to good use catching up with friends and attending some parties. Sadly I couldn’t fit it all in though and I had to miss my friend Liz’s birthday party last night. I was there in spirit and I hope they had a drink for me!
Today was our first Saturday early morning session. For some reason 6:00am wake ups are much easier on a workday than a weekend – go figure! This was an hour and a half session that started off with a “light” 25 minute run over to the Marina Bay Sands mall and back to the gym. Some of the boxers were commenting how they enjoyed running at that time because of the temperature… Which I had to agree but I just can’t let those words “I actually like running at this time of day!” cross these lips quite yet!
The rest was exercises and you’ll never guess what else… Jabs! I’m afraid that my left arm is going to start looking like Popeye’s while my right arm is going to start to resemble Olive Oyl’s! We did jabs with weights and without – its so crazy how light your arm feels and how how much faster you can punch when you set those weights down! We ended with the dreaded 3 minute planks which I need to work on because my arms were in absolute convulsions trying to keep my body off the ground.
Some things are starting to come together with the fundraising and we hope next Saturday to meet up for some breakfast post-workout to get things on the go. More to come about that soon!
Enjoyed a post-workout lunch with Kelso and Robbie over in our ‘hood of Rochester Park. This diet is hard to stick to when you are hungry and everyone else is ordering the good stuff! I’ll do better tomorrow I promise Wan!
